AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF CLUNY EDUCATION
Spiritual

The Cluny School respects the freedom and personal conscience of each one, creating a climate of serenity and happiness in the school.

To promote in all students a rootedness in their faith and appreciation of other religions, the Cluny School provides facilities for campus relationships, on going reflection, moral and religious instruction, meaningful celebration of feasts, personal / community prayer, retreats, seminars and camps.

The Cluny student thus learns to develop a deep relationship with God in prayer, which enables her to search for, find and accept god's Will in all aspects of her life.

To the Catholic students, it strives to communicate a sound, systematic knowledge of the Catholic faith; leadership training to become committed Catholic leaders; and help to discern the signs whereby God calls them to a specific state of Christian life.

Social

Bl. Annie Marie, the first woman missionary, succeeded in liberating the African slaves, thus giving them the dignity and making them realise their human rights.

Deeply convinced of the common Fatherhood of God and the bond of fellowship among human beings, a Cluny student will be formed so as to learn to accept her own uniqueness and that of others as persons.

She will have a special concern for the dispossessed and marginalised in society. She will be made aware of social unjust realities by study and exposure. Through proper leadership skills (see, judge, act) she will be trained to reflect on and analyse these unjust realities, which are against the will of God and the dignity of human persons. She becomes motivated to act as an agent of social change, a liberator of social evils now, and more so as an adult member of the society.

The Cluny student is initiated to promote the values of love, peace, justice and freedom in society.

Being conscious of the need for leaders to transform society, the Cluny School promotes leadership through various youth movements and co-curricular activities.

  Intellectual

The Cluny School helps the student to strive for academic excellence, using all the available means in the school, in a spirit of acquiring and applying knowledge and collaboration rather than competition; skills to evaluate and criticise objectively and constructively and have the capacity and concern to continue her own formation.

Moral

Growth in value - orientation. Value transmission is an integral part of life. The Cluny School helps the students to imbibe the human and Christian values like simplicity, dignity of labour, participation, solidarity and brotherhood, tolerance and forgiveness, generosity and honesty and is committed uncompromisingly to these values.

The school provides opportunities for self - expression and to build up a healthy self - esteem. By the education of moral conscience, the students are helped to make right judgements in their life.

The School also provides opportunities for the students to have a clear idea of how they are to realise the sexual dimension in their lives so as to develop a balanced personality; have a deep respect for life; a better understanding of the equality and complementarity of sexes; discern the different ways in which sexuality is commercially exploited.

Knowing that marriage and family constitute one of the most precious human values, the Cluny School helps the student to discover the beauty and grandeur of her vocation to love and the service of life, preparing her for family life and responsible parenthood

Cultural

India has always been known as a land of ‘rich culture’. Our culture is very rich in signs and symbols. The Cluny School helps the student to respect and appreciate the richness of Indian culture which is expressed in certain values and attitudes like silence and interiority, spirit of detachment and freedom, asceticism and hard work and respect for others.

The Cluny School gives the student a sense of patriotism, respecting the different cultures around her. She will work for national integration and communal harmony, respecting others without distinction of caste, creed, language and economic status.

Vocational And Career Guidance

Being convinced of the importance of making the right choice in one's life, a Cluny student is guided to discover her aptitudes and goal in life which will enable her to face the future with courage and confidence.
